On Sunday, 5-28-17, at approximately 1:00 AM, officers of the Goldsboro Police Department responded to 410 Hollowell Street in reference to a shooting. Officers located Mr. Desconte Bryant, an 18-year-old male and student of Goldsboro High School on the front porch of the residence, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Mr. Bryant was taken to Wayne UNC Hospital and later transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC where he was listed in critical condition. Investigators with the Goldsboro Police Department responded and began investigating the incident. On Monday, 5-29-17, investigators were notified by that Mr. Bryant had succumbed to his injuries and passed away that morning around 11:00 AM.
